EASTER MESSAGE
As Christians, Easter joy is meant to mark our lives - though if some of us
are truly joyful we should start by telling our friends about it! Not that
we can, or should, walk around perpetually smiling. Easter joy is more
profound than that. It is about facing up to the most difficult and tragic
moments in our lives knowing that we don't have to be afraid, that God's
faithful love will see life win out our death.
Easter joy is also about a change in one's life direction for the better,
armed with the knowledge of Christ's sacrificial love and deepened faith in
the Risen Lord. Resurrection means that we should be improving things now.
It has to be for society. Every Easter is an invitation to build a better
community, a more just society, a redeemed world.
The Catholic Lawyers’ Society is now faced with the Easter challenge to be
the leaven in resurrecting the Inter Faith Council as adopted by the Article
11 Coalition, to resuscitate the Independent Police Corruption and
Mismanagement Commission and to bring new courage to the judiciary to
exercise to the full its civil jurisdiction without fear or favour or allow
"personal sentiment" (to quote Tan Sri Dompok) to cloud its judgement.
Happy Easter to fellow members of the CLS.
